Inpatient addiction treatment, also known as residential treatment, is a comprehensive and structured program designed to help individuals overcome substance abuse and addiction issues. It involves temporary residence at a treatment facility, where individuals receive intensive support and care in a controlled environment. 

During residential treatment, individuals typically undergo various therapies, such as individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy, behavioral therapies, and educational sessions about addiction and relapse prevention. The treatment also includes medical detoxification if necessary, as well as support for any co-occurring mental health disorders.

Detox can be the most difficult stage of addiction recovery. As a substance leaves the body, a person can become physically, emotionally, and mentally ill. During this time, residents go through individual cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy and group therapy to uncover addiction triggers and change their behavior. Patients also receive dual diagnosis treatment to uncover and treat mental health disorders like anxiety and depression.
